Tips for higher yields
The flowering phase is a crucial time in the life cycle of a cannabis plant. During this phase, plants develop their flowers, which are ultimately harvested. An optimized flowering phase can significantly increase not only the quality but also the quantity of the harvest. Here are some effective strategies to get the most out of this important growth phase.
Light management: The right light spectrum is crucial for flower development. During the flowering phase, cannabis plants benefit from a light spectrum richer in red wavelengths, which stimulates flower production. Make sure your plants receive 12 hours of darkness per day to optimally support the flowering cycle.
Nutrient adjustment: During the flowering phase, your plants need a change in nutrient composition. Reduce the nitrogen content in favor of more phosphorus and potassium, which are essential for flower development and strengthening the plant. Careful adjustment of nutrients can make a big difference in the size and quality of the flowers.
Humidity and temperature control: Excessive humidity can lead to mold and fungus growth during the flowering phase, especially in the dense buds. Keep humidity low and provide constant air circulation to promote healthy plants. The optimal temperature is between 20-26°C during the day and slightly cooler at night to promote bud growth.
Pruning and training: By selectively pruning unnecessary leaves and training the plants, more light can reach the lower parts of the plant, which focuses energy on flower production. Techniques such as LST (Low Stress Training) and ScrOG (Screen of Green) are particularly effective at maximizing flower development across the entire plant.
By applying these tips, you can optimize the flowering phase of your cannabis plants and thus increase the yield and quality of your harvest.
