Vitamin Z by Grounded Genetics is one of the new hybrids from their new Z Road line. The receptor plant used to create Vitamin Z is Zunami #13, a female selection bred by Grounded Genetics from unreleased seed. Grounded Genetics pollinated the Original Z cut with their Gelato 41 x Sherb Bx1. This pollination project resulted in around 60 plants, with the first selection leaving three initial keepers before number 13 was selected. Grounded Genetics chose Pheno 13 as the keeper because it managed to maintain the Z terp profile and Jealousy Bag appeal while improving the lack of growth performance of the Original Z. Zunami 13 rooted much faster than the mother, Zkittlez, which is widely known as a difficult strain to propagate.
Continuing Grounded Genetics' goal for the Z Road line, which was to create Zkittlez-dominant feminized hybrids without the slow-growing, finicky characteristics of the original Z mother, they pollinated Zunami 13 with reversed Z Road pollen. Reversing Z Road has resulted in offspring that are far more productive and commercially viable than Zkittlez; thankfully, it consistently delivers the flavor of the rainbow we all know and love, but with a little gas to complement the candy.
